New York Fashion Week got off to a colourful start with collections from Australian designers such as Zimmerman, Lil & Emm, Sabo Luxe, Frankie, The Label and Natalie Rolt (just to name a few), making us all very proud.
The be all and end all of trend forecasting, street styling and the up and coming, a few of our very own fashion bloggers such as Brooke Testoni, Jessie Blush (We The People) and Natalie Cantell took a trip to the big apple to get the down low on the fashion world.
Lil and Emm, the Aussie design due from Canberra showed off their ‘Summer Romance’ swim collection, making a runway statement with fuchsia, electric blue and lavender colours with the occasional floral print, not to mention they were accessorising with chokers and pom pom sandals.
Natalie Rolt, the 22 year old designer from Perth showcased 10 impeccably designed pieces in all white mesh, silk and chiffon fabrics. Current trends were shown in her collection through popping midriffs, high thigh splits and high wasted bottoms.
TREND WATCH: Keep your eye out for these bad boys – sandals adorned with pom poms are the new chokers and I have a very strong feeling these will be making their way down to Australia for the spring/summer months. Because now that we have pom poms on our bags and key chains, why not put them on our feet?!
Until next time… B x
